car troubles . . .

Roads are clear on the island and the rain has stopped for the most part. I wanted to go to the gallery this morning, so I loaded my car with some new art work, etc. but the car won't start.

Pete is on it.....

He says it is the battery....it's dead! The car is parked in such a way in the garage that it is going to be tight. He needs to jack the car up, I guess, and remove a lot of stuff to get to it!

They have put the battery in such a hard place to reach and he has to get in behind the wheel or something like that. It's less than two years old and I don't understand why this has happened, except it's all probably part of the new electronic world that I hate! Give me the old fashioned way in so many things. I don't know why they have to make everything so complicated anymore. Give me the simpler times! I remember when you used to pop the hood, the battery was right there. I have even checked and changed a battery myself in the past, my dad first taught me how when I was a teenager. Now I know very little about cars.

Ha! Pete is now watching a video someone made of themselves replacing their battery in the same car I have, in -2 degree weather! He's all bundled up and you can see his breath in the air! It took the guy in the video about an hour to do. It's pretty informative, but complicated. Anyway, at the end of the video the poor guy says, "Whoever the hell designed this....it must have been his last day of work!" (I could easily hear my dad saying something like that, too.)

I say kudos to this guy for even making the video. . . to have the foresight to video tape it in the first place and then put it on line to help people. I wish him the best, whoever or wherever he is, and I hope he's having a good life.
