Back from the doctor. Everything went well. My weight stayed the same, my tests and blood work all came back fine. Blood pressure a little high. I do have osteopenia in both hips. I have noticeably more aching in my hips and back, especially when I work at the kitchen counter or stand at the work bench for very long. My days of long walks are over I think, as I have to sit and rest more and more often. I told him about my cataract surgery coming up and they gave me an EKG on the spot so I don’t have to make another appointment and come back again. That was nice. But who knows, for whatever reason he wants to see me in four months instead of six. Okay, enough about that!
From the studio:
You may remember my trip to Suwannee with Debra a few months ago . . . I brought back some nice driftwood pieces from there to mount my wire trees on. I’ve got ten of them completed and that’s what I’ll show you now. I haven’t set them up at the gallery yet, as I didn’t want to take them piecemeal, but all as a group when the season starts. I’m very pleased with how they have turned out . . . looking more natural and organic. I added moss and a few other little embellishments to each one, but also tried to keep them very simple.
Also made several new dragonflies and fairies.
Oh, and I’m trying something new with my photographs. I’m getting them printed on canvas and stretched over a frame. I really like how they have been turning out and ordered quite a few to take me into the season.
Still on the back burner: hand painting my photographs and mosaics.
Today I take a really good look at my husband and am so thankful for him in my life. Thankful that he puts up with all my guff. Lord knows I would not want to live with me.
Here's the trees . . .
