April orchids . . .

Apr 22, 2015 12:38

So far the squirrels have not discovered the orchids on the purple plant hut. I don't know if it is because it is purple, new structure or what, but I am thankful since a few years ago they massacred every orchid I had when they were hanging in the trees. Many are blooming now and still lots of buds to open, too.

Today Pete has gone fishing and I am working outside on the new space for Gaia. It is the most pleasant day. Since we had rain on Sunday and Monday that seems to have cooled things down a bit and really freshened up the air.

When my sister was here, we moved Gaia to another raised bed where there is only Jade growing. I am adding some glass spheres, more Jade and the plant Sansevieria cylindrical (or African spear), which is a succulent, for some height. I got cuttings from elsewhere in the garden. I will take pictures when I'm done. In the meantime, the eyes of the garden, ever watching .....
