Close to sundown tonight the sky to the west was golden and threw a beautiful color on these eight Ibis as they were flying home for the night. I love the stacked formation they are flying in with one leading the group.
The Ibis is a common bird here and hardly a day goes by, if you are outside, that you don’t see one. They often visit our yard in large groups pecking and picking through the grass for whatever they can find. They can be comical on the ground, sometimes not paying attention and bumping into each other because they are so busy looking down, but are so beautiful taking off, landing and in flight. Most people I know hardly pay any attention to them because they are so common. Not me….they are one of my favorites. I just ordered new business cards and guess what’s on them. I designed it from an Ibis picture I took back in 2012.
