Suffice it to say, it has been an extremely emotional day and I am drained of energy and thought processing in my brain tonight. No need to elaborate on it -- I know when I wake up tomorrow I will feel better, so this will be it for tonight.

I caught sight of this pileated woodpecker down by Warner's Bayou this morning. This one is a male. I spotted its mate clear across the water on the other bank in a tree, but couldn't get a clear shot of her. This is Florida's largest woodpecker (usually between 15" & 20" long) and it is very impressive.
