I had a busy day on Wednesday. My friend
Thagirion came to visit - twice - and it was such a nice time with her and Chris. I will post more about that in a day or so, as I want to have time to put it all together. I’ll just say for now that I got a great gift from her - another Nepenthes!
As for today, time with Maria, then Pete and I had to go a few places and then Camera Club tonight. A full day for sure, and by late afternoon I had to take a few minutes to myself, so I sat out in the shade and rested for a little while before the meeting and watched two collared doves interact with each other. I think they might have been mates and I have other pictures of them together that I will post later, too, but I got this picture of one of them flying away towards the dark shadowy line of trees at the back of the property. I was in the shade, but the sun was coming down behind me and a bit of light filtered through the trees and seemed to hit the dove just right to give it a bit of a glow, but it also seemed to be getting a light from the other side of it, too. I didn’t do much of anything here except crop and resize it and darken the background. I liked the lighting and the blurs just the way they are. I took it on auto setting with Little Red and the camera caught a beauty I didn’t or couldn’t see with my eye.
*** I worked on the picture a bit to get rid of those jagged edges. I was darkening the background a bit and I must have gotten carried away. :)) Now -- more natural looking.
