Today we went to an open house for two of our friends who are school teachers. They both retired after over 30 years. It is going to be quite an adjustment, I’m sure, --the retired life--, but they both were sure looking forward to it.
Then we went to dinner at Yacht Sea Grill downtown to celebrate the birthday of one of the retirees who is turning 60 soon. It started raining while we were eating and it came down in buckets, but by the time we were done, it was almost over. I had grilled grouper, and Pete had what is called a “shrimpburger,” that he claimed as very good.
Tomorrow I’m taking Laurie, Tracy & Maria out to the island to show them all the changes I’ve made to my spaces in the gallery, then we’ll go to lunch somewhere. I’ll let them chose.
Monday it is back to regular routine and on to making some new glass things to sell. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with it all, especially producing two different mediums, but I’m not complaining and I’m very grateful for the sales.
But right now I’m about ready to fall asleep sitting here at the computer. Time for my chair and relaxing.
Oh, and I almost forgot. The neighbors across the street had a huge yard sale this morning. This afternoon when it was over, Pete walked down to the curb and saw what he thought was a folded up $1 bill in the street that turned out to be a $100 bill! How do you even begin to find the owner of cash money in a situation like that?
Our new swing, a homemade plant stand with Betty's pot on it and some of Betty’s art on the tree.
That green plant stand on the left was one of my experiments. We had some round stones left over and I stacked them in the odd, swaying way you see them, then siliconed them together and spray painted the whole thing lime green. It definitely gets a little conversation going when someone sees it.
