Pete and I went on a little shopping spree for the back yard and among other things we bought this swing today.
We were driving around and saw some wooden swings, benches, chairs, etc. for sale in a yard on 5th St. W. We stopped and a man named Tony came out. He showed us all he had and said if we wanted anything else, he would custom make it. But we sat in the swing and loved it, so we bought it. He started handmaking this outdoor furniture when he retired eight years ago and now has a nice little trade going. I would much rather buy from and support the small businesses instead of the big box stores, so we bought this beautiful handmade swing for the back yard. Tony and his wife delivered it within the hour and placed it where we wanted it under the oak tree and along the fence where the three planters used to be. Big things are happening out there in the back yard and we are slowly getting it the way we want it.
