This morning I got a pretty cool shot of a corner of a large round web of a Spiny Orb Weaver on our patio. They make their webs in the same place every time. The lighting effects can be very nice with the sunlight dappling through the trees and the sky showing through in places, but this time I got a different background effect with the screen showing up really well.
My cousin Rosie and her husband Don who live in CA, surprised us with a visit yesterday. She was visiting her sister up by Mt. Dora and then driving down to St. Pete for the day to see an old friend and wanted to stop by and see us, too. It was all a spur of the moment thing where they called at 2:00 and then were here by 4:00. Pete and I had been working out in the back garden for the last several days, so we stopped and put that on hold for the rest of the day. We had a wonderful visit, reminiscing about everything under the sun we could think of. My sister and I went out to visit her and our Aunt Rene in CA right after our dad passed away and she has invited us back again anytime we want. Them stopping by to see us just made my day!
But, I was so mad at myself after they left because here I am, a photographer, and I plum forgot to take a single picture while they were here. Bah, I can’t believe it!
I had a gallery meeting tonight that I just got home from and tomorrow night is Camera Club. I went down to Palma Sola Botanical Park for an early morning walk this morning. The weather here has been absolutely beautiful lately. We continue every day working on the back garden areas. That is turning into a huge project that will probably take a few more weeks to complete. Neither one of us has the stamina we used to have and so we take lots of breaks with a cool drink under the shade trees and sometimes do more talking and planning than working.
