It was a good day!

I spent the better part of today making repairs. Repairs (especially on other people’s work) are one of my least favorite things to do in the glass studio. I dislike it so much I usually put all repairs aside as I get them, they pile up, and then when I can put them off no longer, I do them all in one fell swoop. So today was the day and I got them all done. Gosh, that’s a good feeling!

Plus, had time to make one pink butterfly.

I have a friend who is a breast cancer survivor and this is her 12th year of being cancer free. Every year after her checkup she has a celebration. Usually she puts on a nice dinner for us girls at her house. One year she took our little group of six out to dinner and paid for all of us. She does all this because she is happy and thankful. She doesn’t want anything in return--only our friendship and support. This year we’re going to her house on Wednesday and I made her a card with a photo I’d taken of a pink rose and imprinted the number 12 in the corner.

And, I made her a pink butterfly.

This is how the camera saw it in the direct sunlight.

And this is in the studio light (a little more realistic).
