I found three little eggs or “somethings” in the garden - on different leaves.
I learned my lesson last year when I took a photo of some really neat little eggs on a leaf and when I went back to check the next day, they were gone . . . most likely eaten or hatched. So now I’ve broken off the leaves and put them in a butterfly box until they hatch, or whatever they are going to do. This box is plastic and has screening on the sides and top - pretty neat for observation. I took some of these photos with the macro setting on my camera.
This “little something" I found about a week ago on one of my succulent leaves. It has not changed at all in that time. It is the size of a small pea.
These three little eggs I found two days ago on the leaf of a periwinkle. They appear to be translucent. That’s my thumb in the photo. I can definitely see something inside and some lines on the outside (or inside).
And these I also found on a periwinkle when I was looking for more eggs. I’m not sure what these are, but there were lots of them at the base of the leaves on the stems.
Here's a photo from another angle showing they are shaped like gumdrops
