I've been saying all week, "Okay, calm your denial mechanism."
Luke's Jeep is broken down. Here is the progression of his train of thought:
I just need a jump start.
Maybe I just need to charge the battery for awhile.
Okay, I'll jump start it from this other, clearly more superior vehicle.
Well, I guess I'll just buy a new battery.
You know how sometimes they sell you batteries that aren't charged? I think I'll let it sit on the charger for awhile.
Maybe I need to buy new nuts to connect this battery.
Oh, I was talking to this guy who said that I can push-start it. You live on a hill. It'll be easy.
It needs to go to a mechanic, dear.
I love you, but I think it's time to say goodbye to the Jeep.
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
I say these things between his outbursts of "I LOVE YOU, JEEP! I LOVE YOU!"
