Looking for good TV series
I know that all of you on my f-list have an excellent taste in fandoms (which is why we're friends :-P) and I need your help. Boyfriend and I are looking for new TV series to watch! That is, new for us, the series can be old actually (though not too old, boyfriend doesn't like if it looks too old and not as expensively produced as today). Anything awesome you can rec me?
Series we've enjoyed so far: Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica (Boyfriend, I haven't watched it so far), The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, Edel & Starck (German lawyer series), Pushing Daisies, Rome (boyfriend, too violent for me), House MD (me, boyfriend only enjoyed first four seasons), Monk (occasionally), Doctor Who (me only)
Ideally we are looking for a series with some overarching plot instead of episodes that aren't connected to each other. Can be funny or serious. It doesn't have to be totally realistic (SF or fantasy are fine), but if there are huge gaping logic holes, we will only make fun of it. Good acting, clever plot twists and sharp well-written dialogue are a plus and as I mentioned, it shouldn't look too shabby.
So this is your chance to rec me that small series that you love but nobody else wants to talk about! ;-)
