Diet Day 4

Oct 01, 2008 11:45

Yesterday was day 4 of the diet and was a critical point. I was hungry most of the day despite the snacks. I stopped on my way home from work to pick up some veggies, chicken, and bluberries. By the time I got home I was starving. Eldred had forgotten to start the rice. I was grumpy. We set about preparing food for dinner. And ended up snapping at each other. I felt better after food and Eldred felt better after I suggested that he add chicken to his lunch.

We ate rice that had a "best by" date of March 2007! With some spices added, it was edible, although I threw the rest of the box away. The chicken and veggies were yummy. I'm not a big fan of spinach. I know it's really good for me so I gave it a try. With a bunch of garlic in it, it was okay.

I spent the rest of the evening steaming vegetables, washing dishes and then prepping our lunches for today. I also had to prep my dinner since I have a Finance Committee meeting after work. I'm glad I did the prep because it still took me about an hour an half to get ready this morning. Eldred has a valid complaint that it takes a long time in the morning to consume all the stuff.

I still think the diet is worthwhile. I plan to switch to the Ultrametabolism diet on Saturday (or maybe Sunday) starting at week 2 and try to do the remaining 7 weeks.

I set a modest weight goal so I could have a success. I have already reached it. I am down 4 pounds, so I should be able to reach 5 by the end of the week. That would be great!
