Yesterday I was off-schedule. I didn't prepare my food Sunday night for Monday. I worked until 6 then came home, had a snack, and waited for my turn on the massage table. Eldred went first, then finished baking the acorn squash while it was my turn. I think a massage during a detox diet is a wonderful thing!
I got up Monday when Eldred did. That's a definite noticeable change. I can pretty much bounce out of bed at 6:30 or 7 whereas before I was an inert lump until at least 7:30. I scurried around preparing food for Eldred to take with him. I had to steam some veggies and package everything. By the time I finished doing that and ate, it was after 9.
The Mistress of Spices was due back at the library, so I watched it. I forget where I saw the recommendation for it, but I really enjoyed it. It has been compared to Chocolat.
I wanted to go by the Honda dealer on my way to work because I got an email saying they were making deals to meet their month-end quota. I have been leaning towards a Honda Civic Hybrid instead of the Toyota Matrix. It gets better gas mileage but is a sedan instead of a wagon. I scurried there and had them give me a quote. I didn't like how little they were willing to give us for the Subaru as a trade-in, but they assured me they would work with me. I had to get to work, so I told them to expect Eldred that evening. Unfortunately, whatever sinus crud he has been working on since Thursday or Friday got exponentially worse, so I suggested he stay home in the evening and relax. After discussing things again last night, Eldred and I reached the conclusion that now is not the best of times to be making such a large purchase. We are probably going to keep the Subaru a while longer.
Because I started work at 12:30 my eating schedule was thrown off. I had lunch then dinner then a snack. I had another snack when I got home. I discovered that I really like chickpeas. I put a little lemon, olive oil, salt, and pepper on them because the diet book suggests putting spices on things. I think I would enjoy them just fine plain. I now have a healthy yummy snack for future reference. Yesterday was the first day of the diet that I have been hungry. The first two days I felt full all the time. I wonder if my metabolism is speeding up or I'm just not getting enough food.
I am still liking the diet. Eldred is diligently following it although he does not like it. We will have to come up with a different one for him to follow after this week. He gets major points for resisting the coffee and pastries offered at his training yesterday! :-) Oddly enough the only thing I dislike about the diet is the hot bath every evening for 20 minutes. I cheated and only did 10 minutes last night. I have managed to lose 2 pounds in the first 3 days. Not bad.
