Holiday Party

Last night was the department holiday party. Eldred met me at the restaurant. I ordered lasagna and ate the entire order plus the garlic bread! It was yummy and I seldom eat Italian these days. The bad santa exchange went fine. Everyone was very nice and civilized. Only 3 gifts were stolen, one of which the person was begging for someone to steal. It was a movie pass and they don't go to movies. Eldred and I went next to last. There was nothing we absolutely wanted, so I grabbed one of the two remaining unopened gifts. It was a basket with a mug, coffee, different types of teas, a packet of cocoa mix, biscotti, and chocolate. Eldred was pleased about the beverages. I ate the chocolate!

When we got home from the party, Eldred and I flopped on the couch to watch I Love the 80's 3D: 1980. He got a phone call about University, so I decided to do something productive. I found some thread and push pins and proceeded to hang the holiday cards. I stretched one piece of thread across the opening between the hall and the living room. I put two more down the walls. It looks quite festive! After Eldred finished his phone call, we watched the show. I am not sure why those series amuse me, but I can't stop watching. I think it's the caustic humor. I can't take more than one in row though. Eldred complained a bit, but then got sucked in too!

I finished The Hidden Hand last night. One more off the list. I guess it qualifies as a romance because at the end of the novel there were two weddings and a reconciliation of two people separated for 20 years. On to the next one which is set during the Civil War.

I slept in this morning, which was lovely. I'm not sure why I was so sleepy. Probably a combination of Italian food and cold remnants. The cats didn't bother me because Eldred got up much earlier. They followed him and left me in peace.
