Death has a happy smile

[ Video ]

[ A small golden kitten danced around a foot until it was picked up and gently set aside. ]

No, Crown you can’t come with me. It isn’t your time yet.

[ Eagle wrapped his black cloak around his body and reached for his scythe. ]

This weekend I finally remembered who I was… How many people must have died while I was ignoring my duties? I will ( Read more... )

[ Eagle, you creep Tyr out in so many ways today. He's just going to use text. ]

That's not who you are, Eagle. You're cursed, and you need to stop.

[ Angry text. ]

[Angry red text. Hmm. Eagle is a bit to lazy to type out a reply, so a vocal reply to a text message is forthcoming. ]

I have a few too many names on my list to just stop. Once I take care of all of these people I will be able to take a break for a while.

I don't know why you say this isn't who I am though. I remember so much about myself now.

[ Tyr is a very vengeful cursed guy... ]

You're cursed. You're not remembering yourself.

[ Also, despite being nowhere around a second ago, Tyr is now a few feet behind Eagle. He's a little paler and somehow more dishevelled than usual, but hey, maybe it's just a bad morning. ]

[How strange one minute speaking to text and the next… having the odd feeling of no longer being alone? ]

[Slowly turning to face this suddenly appearing scruffy visitor. ]

I remember being there for the deaths of so many people in this city Tyr, how could that be from a curse? No, I think you are just confused since I seemed so normal when I couldn’t remember my true self.

[ Tyr just looks at him, and his white cloak covers his form. Eagle gets another message on his device while Tyr seemingly does nothing. ]

You don't remember, but the City often creates memories for its own convenience. This isn't your real self.

[Death!Eagle reads the message but decides since Tyr is standing right there he might as well answer out loud. ]

Then what is my real self? And what about you? Haven’t you always been the same as you are now?

[ This face twitches, the whites of his eyes flashing black but they're normal again in literally a blink of an eye. ]

No. I know I was cursed. And my curse isn't us|

You're Eagle. You're a scientist and you're somewhat amoral, but you're not a murderer. [ Yes, this is Tyr's actual impression... ]

[Poor Eagle doesn’t know this is a false impression of who he is… but the fake memories he appears to have now really are strong and vivid. He doesn‘t really want to give them up, not after being unable to remember anything for so long.]

Death isn’t a murderer, Death just is. I have been called Eagle in the past but this feels more normal than that did.

If you are cursed you should worry about your own situation, I am quite content with mine.

[ Although Tyr doesn't show any visible change after that, he does remain a combination of livid and worried. ]

You won't be. You'll regret hurting people like this.

[ At least Tyr hopes he does. ]

I don’t see why I would regret it. If I didn’t collect these people some other reaper would.

[He would…er will… ]

I don’t really understand why it would be a problem?

Because you know you're not just "collecting" them like they're items. You're making them die.

But, they are going to die anyway Tyr. All mortal things die… You should know that. I am just making their final passing as peaceful as I can. It is much better than watching them struggle. Isn’t it compassionate?

[ Tyr, for once, starts walking towards Eagle, but he still doesn't change his expression or speak. ]

You know it's not.

It's not fair to them.

It's not fair to the people left behind.

You can't pretend that expediting someone's death is anything but evil.

It isn’t fair?

[A very strange concept for one who currently thinks death is perfectly normal. ]

I am only taking the people who are on the list. Those who are meant to die today.

Then let them die on their own.

[ And now that he's about a foot away from Eagle, Tyr speaks, calmly: ] You have three more days.
