Fandom meme

The one who seduced you, screwed you over, broke your heart in a million pieces, and laughed about it:
Torchwood. The first season (part of it, anyway) was introduced to me by one of my best friends (hidari_blue), and while I was never a really hardcore fan, I did enjoy it. I gradually began watching the rest of the series on my own, but I ended up stopping after Children of Earth. I'm not saying I suddenly dispise the show with a fiery passion or anything, but the need to watch it just isn't there anymore for my own reasons. (Plus, the fandom is kind of cray-cray.)

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp:
Gundam Wing. This was my very first big obsession when it came to fandom. I was in middle school when I first watched the anime and it stuck with me FOR-E-VER, riding out all of my high school and early college years. I met fellow fans at cons, wrote fic, the works. I haven't watched any episodes or delved much into the fandom for a couple years now, but the spark is still there. ;D

The mysterious dark one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 AM at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized s/he really was fucking crazy:
Axis Powers: Hetalia. I love this series to death, and while I've met some awesome people through the fandom, I just HAVE to leave it alone for a while. It might be because the fans are usually so young (teenagers, specifically) and hyper and my old twenty-something brain can't keep up after a while. Nowadays I've learned to leave this fandom, along with those of other anime series, alone until it's time to prep for another con. :P

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor and whom you'd still really like to get with again, although you're relieved s/he doesn't actually live in town:
Merlin. I love the show, but in all honesty the spark for the fandom fades in and out with the arrival of/wait for each season. And this fandom can get DEEP, man. The fics are epic and the fans are quite courteous (at least from my experience), but I don't think I could handle it all the time. I think I'm actually a little intimidated by the fandom at times, so I'm kind of grateful for my periodic lulls in interest. XD

The steady:
Star Trek (TOS and XI). This has been my LIFE ever since the most recent movie rebooted my interest in TOS. Seriously. The fandom is fantastic and diverse and I never feel like a stranger among it. THESE ARE MY PEOPLLLLLE.

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:
Doctor Who. The show is awesome, but I admit: I haven't seen all that much of it. I mean, it's HUGE. To date I've had the most exposure to the 11th Doctor, even though the 9th was my first and the 10th followed shortly after. I don't feel I have the right to call myself a "true" Doctor Who fan since I've only seen so many episodes. I do want to watch more of the show, but in all honesty I just don't have the proper time or the dedication right now. *shrug*

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with, but ultimately you're just good buddies:
Supernatural. I really like this show a lot. It has a special place in my heart, and I do search around for fic now and then, but I'm really not THAT involved in the fandom. I really don't think I'm missing much anyway; maybe I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time, but I tend to see too much wank and not enough mutual love. (It's usually shipping wars or Castiel-related. IDK. :P)

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool person except it's never really gone anywhere:
X-Men: First Class. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie and absolutely adored the chemistry and interaction between Charles/McAvoy and Erik/Fassbender. But in all seriousness, I doubt I'll actually get invested into fic and whatnot. (Although that obviously hasn't stopped me from tumblring the fuck out of it. XD)

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at them and thinking, "How the hell did they land all these cool people?"
Glee. None of my close friends are into it (I think), but plenty of people I know in RL seem to love it. I didn't dislike the first few episodes I saw of it, but seeing how big it's grown and the directions it's gone in... I don't know. I don't get it and frankly, I find it slightly annoying at times. (I admit though, it has some pleasantly golden moments that I just happened to see. I don't deny that.)

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and against whom you measure all other potential partners:
Sherlock. OMG. This fandom is spectacular. Granted, there's drama and wank occassionally, but no fandom is perfect, right? But everything taken into perspective, it's an absolute BLAST. I can't really describe it in words, it's just really fun. :3

The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better:
Suits. hidari_blue is into it. Even my mom is into it. And I've seen plenty of it on tumblr lately. It looks cool from what I've seen. Now if only I could remember to try and watch it... XD

The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only they'd clean up a bit:
Harry Potter. *shrug* Actually, I don't know. I was really into the series when I was younger, but I sort of fell out of the fandom by the time the last book came out. I think I read it more out of a sense of, "I need to finish this series because I've come so far and it would be a shame to just drop it without seeing how it all ends." I haven't even seen the last three films. Sometimes I'll see something that will make me a little nostalgic, but other than that I really don't know if I'd go back. (Again, there's a bit of a wank factor I'm intent on avoiding. :P)

Your hot new flame:
...I don't really have one. XD Pretty much everything is in between seasons right now, so I'm just waiting it out until new episodes start showing up.

The one who stole your significant other:
Star Trek. I say this because when it came down to it, Star Trek was the primary reason I started my [admittedly quite graceful, if steep] fall from my Gundam Wing obsession. Out of one and into another, I guess. XD But seriously, GW's been simmering with silent rage of death in my closet for the past two years because of ST's general epicness. I can't blame it.
