I set a handful of goals for myself, broke them down into habits and routines, and started implementing them awhile ago. Days like today, when it feels as if I'm doing nothing but slogging through my days, I have to keep reminding myself that if I stick to the plan, by the end of this summer I'll:
* be fitter
* be healthier and more grounded
* have a tidy, welcoming home
* have a broader community for me and for Sarah and deeper connections with the folks already in our lives
* be ready to play banjo and bass in public (even if it's only half a dozen songs apiece)
* have had a remarkably successful homeschool semester
* be significantly more widely read and well-informed than I am right now
* have a broader sense of capability, and a much smaller ToDo list looming over me

Those are good goals. Worthwhile goals. They are worth days and even weeks of slogging through the mud.
