Summary: Ino can't hide her disapproval even when they're shopping.
“I don’t get why you’re marrying him,” Ino said, “and that dress looks hideous on you.”
“Thanks,” Sakura said drily. Looking herself over in the mirror though, she couldn’t help but agree with Ino’s assessment. The abundance of ruffles that made up the skirt looked much better on the rack than they did on her. “And I already told you why I’m marrying him.”
“I guess I just keep hoping that you’ll come to your senses and realize that you’re both being idiots. At least we’ve all come to expect it from Sasuke, but you’ve always been the smart one.”
“Plenty of people marry for the same reason we are.”
“Yeah, but those people aren’t you,” Ino said examining her chipped nail polish. “I can get it with Sasuke, but you want love, not to be made into some glorified baby-making machine.”
Sakura frowned. “I love him, and he does care about me.”
“But he doesn’t love you, and let’s be real, I doubt he ever can. I doubt he can ever love anyone. Is some loveless marriage something you really want?” Ino asked.
“Shut up, Ino,” Sakura snapped. “You’ve said all of this before, and the answer is the same. You don’t understand everything that has happened between us, so can you please stop?”
Ino huffed and frowned. “Fine. Whatever. Just take that pathetic excuse of a dress off. You can at least look the part when you get married.”
