Written by
Greg Rucka with art by
Tom Mandrake, Jesus Saiz, Matthew Clark, Diego Olmos, Manuel Garcia,
Jimmy Palmiotti. Each issue had an opening page that was written by
Eric Trautmann and art by
Steve Lieber. There are three characters in the DC Universe that I find have compelling stories. One of them is the
Question. I hesitate to say this but before the miniseries was finished; I considered buying the hardcover version and reading it before flipping through the individual issues.
Like The Dark Age, this spin-off takes the next step in
Renee Montoya’s life as she evolves into The Question. I was very surprised that the mini ended abruptly. I had one of those “no way that was the end.” I like how diverse the art was. Every issue had a different artist working with different illustrating abilities. I liked how the story added to Renee’s search which mirrored the interests of Vic, the late Question. This was shown by what length Renee’s studied and identified passages in the Crime Bible. Her main adversary was destined to show her what was needed to fully understand the beliefs behind the manuscript.
The story was good the art was very good, I do not know why I would not buy this book in trade format, maybe I have too much of a problem with the ending. There is another miniseries tied into the Finial Crisis mega event involving the Question, so I might have to read them before I decided to spending money on a Crime Bible hardcover. I think that reading the issues before investing in the hardcover was a good idea.
“Thus is her word.”
