Sita Sings the Blues

Jul 13, 2009 19:20

Sita Sings the Blues is a charming, pretty, delightful, fun, animated version of the ancient Indian epic tale of Ramayana, about Rama's wife Sita, and the trials she go through - and set to 1920's jazz songs by Annette Hanshaw. It's one of the most visually creative animated films I have seen in a long time, and the animator gets more out of the 2D style than many gets out of 3D.

On top of all this, it's even a free download. Due to copyright issues, the creator decided to give the film away for free. It's in a number of formats, including an image that can burned to a DVD, so you can watch it on your TV.
