the moon lies fair upon the straits

it's the best running weather ever. it's 40 degrees and rainy.

i had to walk/jog, because on friday night i worked for event support and smashed a large rolling piece of equipment into my ankle. the lighting set for mela was hopefully the last Event Support lighting set i will ever do. it was understaffed and slightly inefficient. and unappreciated by the run crew, who were in canada and having an enjoyable friday night.

then on saturday i relaxed, cleaned a bit, and painted. i'm becoming very fascinated with color. but the painting is pretty terrible, so it's just a good meditative habit, nothing very productive.

on sunday we went down to the Nunda/Angelica area to eat unlimited pancakes with real maple syrup! and today we went to the Thali of India for their buffet. There has been a recent plethora of delicious food experiences.

Tonight i'm still trying to clean up the second bedroom to give myself a hang-out spot. Life is happier without the television in the living room. I'm still addicted to the internet, but I started reading the second George Martin book. Also, tonight i'm reading Matthew Arnold... which puts me a strange mood...

Ah, love, let us be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.
