My Christmas vacation in Hong Kong was nice and warm, and exhausting. For Christmas I tolerated a lot of extended family eating not-so-Western Western food (ham, roast beef, etc) and for New Years we watched seven minutes of fireworks off the building surrounding Victoria Harbor from a small harbor cruise ferry. The flights were horrendously long, as would be expected, but on the way home we had exit row seats with plenty of leg room. On the way home, I counted more than thirty hours of traveling, and so when Continental made us late taking off, late getting our bags, and then practically destroyed a piece of my luggage, I was almost reduced to tears.

Last week my sleeping rhythms were still flip-flopped. I was extremely tired around 3-6pm (which would be the middle of the night/early morning in Hong Kong) and couldn't sleep at night. I tried sleeping more, sleeping less, a sleeping pill, lots of sunshine, nothing really worked. I'm finally back to semi-normal I think. My immune system must be pretty decent because I never got sick from the plane, the climate change, the water, the food. However, I might now be getting sick from Jon, who has a cold.

Went home this past weekend, but it was very uneventful, mostly due to me being completely exhausted and getting sick. I also split my time between parents, each of whom feel they got the short end of the deal, and so in the end I just talked to them for a bit, slept a bit, and came back home. Home is here. But i miss all my friends from there.

I'm going to go to sleep early because I'm still so exhausted, from what I'm not sure, but maybe a lot of sleep will give me a good start for next week.
