Just this morning, and very unexpectedly since my townhouse was brand fucking new when I bought it a year and a half ago, the master bath toilet died.
The cheapasses who built our complex cut a lot of corners and apparently installing quality plumbing fixtures was yet another one of them. Grrrrrr!
It turns out the internal mechanism in the tank, ie the "guts" of any toilet, is made predominantly of plastic where it ought to be made of metal and rubber. I'll need to get all three of them retrofitted to avoid similar problems in the future, but first I need to see if there is a damned warranty on any of this. I sincerely doubt it, but considering how expensive calling a plumber will be, I might as well see if I can get them to fix it first.
While I'm hiding all of this behind a cut anyway, let me also mention that I had a fairly unpleasant weekend stay at the DHoC. I won't go into that right now since that would only drag me down even further.
To top it off, bad weather kept me offline Sunday night after I got home. There was more of the same all day and evening yesterday, so I've been away from the internet for quite awhile. I hate being disconnected that way, but it's better than frying my computer. {dark sigh}
With that crappy news out of the way, let me mention that I'm obviously way behind on fanfiction related matters.
I've no idea what reaction, if any, there's been at MM.org to the conclusion of "Feeling Like a Fool". Granted, as bad as my luck seems to be this morning, maybe I shouldn't worry over it. At least
yanagi_sen has sent me some of her patented day-brightening comments and I'm very hopeful that darling
skippyscatt liked it, too. Plus,
weisshund has sent me his impressions of a few chapters and that helps.
I really ought to try to reorient my thoughts so I can start the uphill battle that will be the process of editing "Breaking All the Rules". IIRC, it starts with angst straight out of the gate and that suits my mood perfectly right now. But first, I'd better go figure out where to even begin with this damned plumbing problem.
