Write down this date...August 2, 2004. You're going to want to remember that date, because when your kids and your grandkids ask you when the most memorable year in East Lansing's history started, now you'll have an answer.
I moved in yesterday. Not completely, but I moved some of my stuff into the new APT and got all the paperwork, turned the power on, etc. Never before have I been more excited for a school year. All 3 years have had a different excitement to them.
Freshman Year: Obvious. New surroundings, starting a new part of life, getting out a little more into "the Real World"
Sophmore Year: The Return to Glory. Alot of people get the 'first summer home' depression. Once you get a taste of college, you want to soak it up as much as you can.
But now, it's completely different. I'm an upperclassman. In my own mind, I run things in East Lansing. We live off campus, we can throw parties whenever we want, there is no such thing as a floor meeting. Complete freedom is mine. And I felt like the mayor of E.L. driving through campus yesterday. Nobody can stop us, we run shit here.
Talkin to Keedy has really got me ready to go back. We could be talking about welcome week, football Saturdays, parties, or road trips, and I get more and more excited. Every year of college has gotten better than the last, and I expect nothing less in 04-05.
2 more days of work, then no more responsibility for 2 weeks. I can't wait to be an irresponsible, dumb teenager for a little while. It's something I've been needing for a long time.
