Update - June

It's been over a month since my last update. See? I told you I wouldn't update as regularly without having time to, by being bored at work!

Fuck, where do I start? OK let's start where I left off last time :P Late May.

I had a night off to myself and I watched Lantana - great Aussie film about the state of 3 couples in their 30s/40s. It was just what I needed, a film about something real. A few full on things happen in it but it was well acted and not over-dramatised. Aussie films always seem to tackle such bleak subjects.

The major concert for semester 1 at QPAC went well. isi13 took photos for me again and this time I was able to reward her with a nice bottle of somethin' :)

Went to a Lunchtime Concert in the Brisbane City Hall cos one of our lecturers organised for his Tropical Dance Orchestra to play. He has since asked me to join so I'll be playing a gig with them in August! I even told him I was crap but he's still going to pay me to do it. Funny world, hey :P

Gill's been up from Melb for the past few weeks with her little family cos her hubby has been assigned some work here in Bris. We've caught up a few times with the other girls as well and she hosted a games night which was mega fun. We played Taboo, Pictionary and Scattergories as Cranium was missing from someone's collection.

I've been to my pares place a coupla times to sort my crap out there. I need to go back cos I'm just about to get into the good stuff like my ice-cream maker and good china!

I went shopping with Kat at DFO. I managed to find myself 2 excellent skirts only to find it's now a little too cold to wear them.

sirkahless and I went to watch Candy - a great Aussie film about a young couple played by Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish, and their slide into fuckedness as heroin junkies. Again, a movie with real feelings, well acted and not over-dramatised. Tony Martin, Noni Hazelhurst and Geoffrey Rush are also in it.

Queen's B'day holiday saw me attending a BBQ brunch at New Farm Park hosted by Gill. It looked like everyone with a toddler at the park :P The scrumptious meal took 2 hours to cook up but boys were happy and the company was nice.

Orchestra is going well. I'm temporarily playing in first violin atm so we've played 2 concerts since my promotion - once at a retirement village in Carseldine (the oldies are always lovely and appreciative) and in the Queen St Mall. My pares and sister came along to the mall performances along with M, eviltomato & Kat, Steve and Sue & Stu so I was very grateful to have ppl to play to who I knew :)

Hannah had her b'day party 2 w'ends ago so we hung out with her & Craig and Paul and Bretto. It had been ages!

Over the last month I've also seen Jacki, Jarrod & Kat, crazycatgirl, Therese, Joon, fleen and blubeastie.

Over the past w'end I've been really sick and only started to feel human again today so I missed skardi's b'day party and dinner out at sushi buffet. I'll get back into the swing of things tomorrow :)
