What the hell was with the commentators on Versus? Watching the Spain / US doubles match, I was shocked by how insistently they crapped on Nando. He couldn't do anything right, and when he did do something right, he got lucky. They kept talking about how he was the weaker of the two and how Bryan and Fish would do well to keep hitting it to him. (Yes, it's true that he was the one who kept getting broken, but he still played really well.) They made snide remarks about him posing nude ("You won't see Andy Roddick or James Blake doing something like that."), and when mentioning that Tommy has also posed nude, they made a point of saying that Tommy did it for charity. So did Nando, you jackasses!
Nando bashing aside, it seemed they were being much more biased than usual. At one, point, after being broken, one of them said, in reference to Nando and Feli, "See, now that's two singles players, rather than a doubles team." What the hell? Nando and Feli ARE a doubles team. They've been playing together for years. When was the last time Fish and Bryan played together? Oh, um, that would be never.
I try not to listen to the commentators most times, but they made me really mad this morning.
