W&S Open - Day Two

Aug 12, 2011 10:33

Well, I suppose it's officially day three, but since we spent that first half day travelling, getting our car and hotel, and then pretty much pass out, I'm not counting it.  Yesterday was our day to relax and get ready for the rest of the week.  We woke up late, went out for a ridiculous breakfast, went to see "Cowboys and Aliens" (I know, again, but the HLP hadn't seen it.), went for a walk, and bought groceries.  Twice.

On our first trip to the grocery store, we passed Jelena Jankovic and her boyfriend, which was very cool.  Later, after dinner, we went back to pick up some sandwich stuff we'd forgotten the first time, and saw Jeremy Chardy (with his superhot girlfriend), Phillip Kohlschreiber (with less hot girlfriend), and someone who might have been Andreas Seppi (wearing huge headphones).  It was very cool and makes up for last year, when we didn't see any of the players before Friday.

Today, we're headed to the draw party.  There are no matches tonight, so we'll have free run of the grounds before and after.  (Not like on Wednesday night, when we snuck onto the grounds and walked around without permission.)  That should be fun.  There won't be many people there, and quite a few players are already in town.  Surely some of them are on the practice courts and not wandering around the grocery store.
