Exhaustion

Today was all over the map, in so many ways.  There was an intense session with Dr. Jung, where we are perhaps finally getting to the level of talking about what needs to be talked about, but which I am very good at avoiding.  There was a two-hour staff meeting with some provoking and thoughtful conversation.  There was a trip out to 85th Ave, seeing a police car swoop out of nowhere, guns drawn at all angles, and a young, hooded man pinned to the ground.  There was a school filled with artwork, there were the voices of teachers doing extraordinary work, there was a five-year old girl crying because she wanted to be near her friend, there was a man who didn't know when to shut up.  There was a long drive back across the city hitting every red light.  There was an oil warning signal in the car, there was bad Tom Ka Gai, not enough time with my children, and almost no LiveJournal.  There was a hot bath, there was reading, and there will be sleep.
