The day started out with me stressed and nervous about Friday morning class, for which I was up way too late preparing. For some reason I was convinced the class would be a flop, and as is usually the case it went off just fine, maybe even better than fine, but as it was fine was fine with me. About half way through the three hours I managed to relax and realize that yes indeedy, it would be fine and I was able to even bask in the fineness of it all. My
shirt was buttoned, no ultra-embarrassing teaching blunders, and I got through everything I'd planned. There were words of appreciation from students. I can't complain.
Following class I decided it was high time to cash in on a certificate for a massage that was given to me back in July, and so went to see Silvia, who turned out to be this super-powered, 55-year old healing Wonder Woman who wrapped me in warm things, enveloped me in aroma-therapy, and emphatically stated, "I am going to TAKE CARE of you." She also told me that she left her marriage and raised three children on her own because, "I am too wild to be married." All of this in her gorgeously sexy Spanish accent as she used her bionic thumbs to dig into my knotted neck muscles and stroke and stretch me this way and that. I remembered that I DO have a body, and that is always a good thing.
Tonight I will prepare for weekend cookie-baking extravaganza, take a bath, and watch
The Scarlett Empress -- because who other than Marlene Dietrich and Catherine the Great can follow up my super-powered Wonder Woman afternoon?
Love to all.
