Beasts
I'm delighted to announce that my novelette, "Beasts," a revisionist take on beauty and the beast set during the French revolution, has been purchased by Realms of Fantasy.
I don't have a publication date yet, but rest assured that as soon as I do, I will let you know.
This particular story is one that I've mulled over for a long time. I did quite a bit of research on the "Beauty and the Beast" fairy tale while writing it and discovered that the French version that we are most familiar (and that the Disney movie is based upon) is not only a latecomer to the field, but only one version of this European classic.
I could probably spend a lifetime writing and rewriting this story. The more I learned, the more it fascinated me, and the more ways I could see to tell the story. Alas, I could pick but one.
