Owner of 4th Century New Testament Papyrus identified. And it's a flax merchant! The work to trace this person is pretty impressive, and how wonderful that there is enough documentation that we can actually know the person!

Wine cups and social status is ancient Greece.  Really informative video. Symposia were such an important part of Greek culture (our symposiums bear little resemblance to the Greek notion of everyone getting drunk together) that it is important to understand them to understand the culture.

Ancient Cairo manuscripts reveal lost Jewish history.
Pretty interesting stuff, particularly if, like me, you find the Septuagint and its history of interest.

Herod's Tomb. Very thorough and enjoyable article. I confess to being a big fan of Herod's (although that may not be a popular thing to say). He was a difficult king to like, but he did a lot to keep Israel together against  Rome.

Battle of Towton. More information on the excavations on this nearly forgotten medieval battle. Lots of interesting information here about the middle ages, including how dreadful the battles were, how healthy people were at the time (not short, stunted, or poorly fed). Good article.
