Here and there

Ok, Heather Mallick is really ridiculous.

"Canada has a Conservative minority government right now that does have a core belief. It's that Canadians deserve a good stomping, all of them. Conservatives can't stand people, particularly if they're female, or second-generation Canadian, or educated, or principled, or not from Alberta, which is the home of the hard-right belly-bulging middle-aged Tory male."

If that's the best you got, then go home, because that sort of thing doesn't advance anyone towards anything. It's childish and totally transparent. I mean, obviously, if they somehow continue to form governments here, the Tories aren't stomping on all Canadians. And everyone who's paying attention knows that if the Tories have a core belief, it's that power should be protected at all costs.

Weekend was ok. Watched hockey, got bikes, ate BBQ, just as planned. On Friday, Hiedi and I watched the episode where Lennie's daughter is murdered, and Hiedi started crying and turned to me and said, "Why does everything bad always happen to Lennie???" and it was alternately pathetic and adorable.

Last night Hiedi's snoring kept me up and I had to move out to the couch. Short version is that I didn't sleep well and took today off.

Somtimes I feel like everyone in Whitehorse is living some sort of pretend life. Like, People don't really live up here, do they? And if they do, their lives aren't real - they're just making believe!

Does that make sense? Probably not.
