I wasn't impressed with that last episode of Sex and the City, last night. I know of at least two people on my friends list who seemed to enjoy it, but I found Carrie to be just so whiny. Some of the acting was of pretty poor quality, too. The monologue, or whatever, about love when she was realizing that Aleksandr wasn't the guy was so badly delivered by Carrie that I was laughing out loud. Every. Word. Was. Its. Own. Sentence. And it was clear that it was supposed to be the most moving segment of the show.
But, back to the whininess. You don't move to Paris, with an artist, and then get mad at him when he decides that his freaking opening is a big deal. Aleksandr was extraordinarily understanding to even suggest to her that she might go to her party instead. I probably wouldn't have. As Elizabeth said, when you're married to/coupled with an artist, and the artist has an opening, your role for the night is to be his/her arm candy. You aren't the centre of attention, and if you don't get any, that's just the way that night is supposed to work. Wait 'til tomorrow, is what you should do.
Elizabeth also said that Aleksandr was just too reasonable for her, throughout their relationship. I concur.
We also rented two video games yesterday, one of which was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. As the Scarleteeners on here may remember, I came down pretty hard on the GTA series a while back on the boards there, and I hadn't even played the game at the time that I wrote that. I feel vidicated now. People under a certain age shouldn't get anywhere near this game. But I'm old enough to understand it. :p It'll be filed under "Josh's Guilty Pleasures".
