Ok, quick story. 'Cause I've been meaning to tell it for a while.
So there's one member (or two) in particular that seems to LOVE the N-word. So one, let's call her Joy. Joy sometimes starts with the "my nigga this" "my nigga that." And there's a "rule" about language in the office, but I HATE language policing. It's stupid and ineffective. I try to curtail their use of it and they giggle because language policing is meaningless w/o education. And sometimes it can be reinforcing if what they are looking for is to be taboo and get attention. Ok blah blah. I'm getting slightly offtrack. So Joy lives in our housing program. So does Monica (name also changed, in fact, just assume I'm changing names when I speak about the girls). Joy is Black. Monica is white. Now I cringe when Joy starts calling folks "my nigga" left and right any way, but it always scared me when she said it around Monica for fear Monica would pick up on it like "well SHE'S saying it so it must be ok." But Monica flipped it and I think I completely fell for this kid after this.
Joy: Come ON! Hurry up, my nigga!
Monica: I said I'm coming as fast as I can, my cracka!!!
I think I was the only person in the office that found that funny. lol But I was ROLLIN!
