Recently I've felt compelled to write/talk about "virginity." I'm so glad that I never gave much respect to the notion of virginity since now I realize it's a socially constructed piece of bullshit

I'll try to be open with my children (if I live that long and have any) about sex, because hiding it only makes it more tempting...and the lack of formal nd trusted education (hopefully from my wife and I) makes it more dangerous too.

It was a taboo in my house as well. I had to learn on my own. LuckilyI didn't end up bugging out too much.

i am so over the entire notion of virginity. i think one of my proudest moments so far at work has been developing a "debunking virginity" lesson plan for our sex ed curriculum. i don't know how i avoided a lot of the dogma but i somehow grew up just always thinking sex was this continuum of behaviors and activities and penis-in-vag was just one part of a larger spectrum. i think it came from sneaking and watching lots of late-nite cable nudie movies where "sex" really just meant lots of foreplay. sexually active is sexually active. let's stop screwing up an entire new generation of girls obsessed with either losing or keeping their so-called virginity.

I'm definetly not pure even being a virgin. I've been wanting to do it for who the fuck knows how long, so I can't say I have a pure mind on the subject.
