So, more additions to the gender-bent doodles. Yey.
This time Midterms squashed my brain and I ended up doodling two different versions of Piper of DC comics fame. I changed the costume design a lot from canon!Piper's because, he's gone through a lot fo costumes, and they're all. Really. Ugly.
For serious. I think the only ones I find vaguely appealing are his more recent ones. Even then, the current costume's basically a hooded cape with ... something underneath. Since I really hate drawing capes on characters outside of certain iconic looks (Bat-family and Super-family have to have capes just because), I just mixed it up and went "Well, what would a musician wear?".
Piper is a red-head in canon, but after I added the top hat in, I realised that female!Piper was going to turn out looking like a leprachaun, so she got an impromptu dye job. I don't think it turned out so badly... and look! Look! She matched her bangs to the rest of her colour scheme! Isn't that precious? XD
The background imagery was totally done through judicious brush useage. I'll put credits up later when I have the strength of mind to actually go through my brush files to mix and match them up.
Also, cel-style shading is ridiculously difficult. Rar.
... to be honest it's not that I don't like drawing men, it's just much more fun to draw women. They're all curvy and fun and if I ever have problems with poses I can just plop myself into a mirror (even though that doesn't work if I want to draw someone flying. Damn you gravity...)
