He didn't forget the shotgun pointed at his face or the comments about some of the zombies being quicker. As if on cue an undead dog came racing out of cover. He snapped up the shotgun and blasted it in the head without missing a beat. As it hit the ground with a yelp, he added another shot just to be sure. "Even dogs. That's sick."

That zombie had been a whole lot faster than the ones he'd encountered before, but he'd also heard rumors about there being a few quick ones. Listening again to be relatively sure they were alone--if he had his angelic senses, he wouldn't even have had to listen--he glanced over at Dean. "I still don't believe it was necessary to come here." The people of this city were really not Castiel's concern.

But, even if they hadn't needed help, Dean would have come. This was his job and for the first time since he came to Adstring, he felt like a real hunter again. He went down a side alley, pausing to let Castiel catch up and to watch his back. "And look at it like this, if the Animus take your powers away for a bit - you'll have more shotgun experience. In general and to take on the inner city."

But fine, whatever. He covered Dean as he was supposed to, making certain nothing would sneak up on them, but ignoring whatever his friend said at the moment. He wasn't sulking. Not at all. Suddenly though, he stopped walking, hearing a familiar shuffling noise from the direction they'd come. "Dean."
