Well the apartment wasn't as bad as it was this morning. Maes had spent the day clearing it out and it really would have taken longer had Roy not helped with some really rusty, non flame inducing alchemy. At the moment, there was enough room for about ten people to sit and talk. That's it. Maes wouldn't allow any more than that. As it was, he was pretty certain his roommates would want in on it. Maes wouldn't mind that, considering he's done enough background checks on them to make Amestris security roll their eyes. If Maes was anything, he was thorough.
The only thing to drink tonight would be coffee and the only plans he had was currently committed to memory. After the incident with the possible Envy/shapeshifter creature, he was more paranoid than ever.
Once the invited had arrived and introductions were made, Maes went in to fill in the others about the current situation. Without knowing what Veles was going to do, it was best to be prepared.
"Thank you for coming. All of you know what happened last night, and there's no need to go over the indignities we have suffered. What we need to do now is to capture this person intent on destroying us completely. If we get to them first, that may paint us in a better light. Then again, it can also backfire because the city might view it as a mercenary stance. Anyway, there are several peopled here who have had a fire or arson background. Not to suspect anyone here, I need to let you know you will most likely be placed under suspicion...

"Now that's probably Veles' current list of suspects, so everyone be careful. I know many of them can be ruled out, but the soldiers won't think so. And they won't be nice about it.
"What we need to do is try to figure out this culprit before the city does. Or possible culprits. A day or so ago, there was another body found burned in Victory Square, but it was not as publicized as this one. If it was a native trying to get us into trouble, fine. If not, then we need to do something about it. As much as I don't like the current government, I like the fact of a few random Gatewalkers risking the safety of the whole city just for a couple laughs or reformation. I don't believe in compromising the safety of many so recklessly to bring about change, and I believe you folks don't, either.
"This suggestion has been proposed: We set up our own surveillence around our buildings. Any suspicious activity should be reported and no one wander the city alone. Should anything be changed or added? What do you think?"
