Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone, barely noted with all the adverts for christmas already engulfing the majority of TV time. It's sad that my mom went to buy Thanksgiving decor on Wednesday and found it already on sale in a little corner, behind all the Christmasy items. How is that normal?
I'm not too phased by it, really. I actually realized only a little while ago what I probably should have noted long ago - Thanksgiving isn't particularly overjoying for me because as it turns out, I don't care much for the majority of the food served. It's very depressing, because it all looks wonderful, but I just can't eat it. So I actually end up eating less and scrounging through the pantry, lol. No sympathy being sought there; I find it humorous and don't feel concerned at all. And I love any extra family time, so Thanksgiving is another wonderful excuse for it. I missed my mom's side this year, though. Ended up meeting my new baby cousin for the first time - absolutely adorable, and flirty, as all baby boys tend to be.
Now it's Christmas time, and everyone who knows me at all should already be aware of just how excited I am. Also, this year I went all year without listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, and that was exciting, although now I can do it, and I still haven't - I don't want to be distracted from a paper that I've allowed to hang over my head for far too long. Now I've dragged it to the point where it'll be like ripping off entire fingernails the entire time. Not pleasant. Gracious, though, that's a graphic simile. My apologies... it's just going to be very hard to get into it!
I'm knitting a scarf. Knitting is addicting.
And, now I'm full of fudge and cookies and empty ideas that don't relate to school at all - so it's high time to focus on whatever I can. Hope everyone's thanksgiving went well, and I'll try to write again, oh, say, in the next year or so. I'm sure if you're really concerned about the updates of my life, you'll ask, otherwise I can only hope that this is some kind of source of interest for you.
Speaking of interesting, did you know that in the Egyptian creation story, the creator god Atum made his children by spitting out his son and vomiting his daughter? I wonder if there's signifance in that. Like, boys like to spit and girls vomit when they're pregnant. Yeah... want to go ride bikes?
