Yes, we had a very bad day (and night) yesterday and our region was taken off guard by the most unusual occurence ever to have happened in the last forty years. The whole of Metro Manila flooded ALL AT THE SAME TIME! XO
We are thankful that my family and our house are all safe and we were not greatly affected by the flood all over the metro and nearby provinces.
Our house just experienced rains seeping in from the windows due to the direction of the winds hitting them.
Most of the places that have never experienced flooding were flooded especially the exclusive ones! Fortunately it was gone by today.
The rest of the residential areas especially in Marikina, Rizal Province and other areas of Metro Manila are still affected by the floods and some have started cleaning up their homes. This include one of mama's sister and her family whose house was flooded up to their knees! @_@
We hope that there will be volunteers and donations pouring in for these people who needs most our help. You can either contact your local radio/TV stations or the regional/provincial disaster coordinating council or the regional/provincial DSWD and your local government offices.
Yesterday and today had us focused on our AM radio stations (DZMM and DZRH) and our TV glued in on the news and special coverage of ABS-CBN and the online/TV telecast of DZRH on Dream Satellite.
EDIT: I am adding a link
here from a post by
_ligaya_ where she lists contact details of the different agencies and places where you may want to lend a helping hand via volunteering or donating basic necessities to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.
God Bless Us All!
