Well..this year has been a year of stark contrasts....

So. I just passed History, and I'll marginally pass Theory. I'm probably going to fail Linguistics, and I didn't memorize four of my jury pieces until 3 days before my jury. Luckily, it went well..but still. I'm going to lose my scholarship, and I don't have nearly enough credits as I should have. I've dropped two courses in two years, and I have only passed one non-music course, which was English. I've had some very personal lows, and I've felt dissilusioned with my degree, and and pondered changing my major. I don't have a job, and the places I applied aren't showing interest in me. Yay. I got kicked out of the opera because of conflicts, and was asked not to call again until they contact me. Then again..that's the biz for you. Sometimes I think I'm too soft for this profession, if that is indeed what I end up doing...I remember walking home with Kaile and Justin, and It...shocked me. No shame to them though, they are great friends of mine, and I think they're both great people. I just went very quiet and looked at the pavement for several minutes. However, I could understand what they were talking about, but, in retrospect, I was...I guess I didn't think I could just always get what I needed out of music. It was always an escape for me, something to enjoy...I suppose I didn't take it seriously enough.

However, I've performed in two very good Chorus concerts as a soloist, had 4 solo paying gigs, and I have the love of my life to support me through everything. I'm staying on the island so I can be closer to her, and some of my best music friends, including Corrine, Sabrina, and Patrick (Reikie) are staying on the island for the summer as well. That will be awesome. Also, Alicia and I are going to go to the Stampede in July, which I haven't been to in 3 years. I bought her a real white Calgary Stetson. She liked it. We also played with little tiny kittens on her friends' grandparents' farm in Nanoose. THey were cute. We went to Pacific shores and had AMAZING food, and that ruled muchly as well.

Well, that's my two-pronged year-end review. Going to have tea with Patrick at Murcie's, which will be, in the Hampton's style, meehhhhhwwwstt eeeexccellleeeehhhhhnnnt. God I want to find out what I got on my lieder for theory.

Anyway, that is most definitely all,

DynamoRyan
