Lesee, I left off on Wednesday...
THURSDAY
Lunch reservations at The Blue Bayou. Bypass the line right as they tell everyone that it's booked until Sunday. Seated right next to the ride itself. Awesome Monte Cristo, and a cookie-boat pirate ship. Disney California. Long lines. Tower of Terror is awesome. The Mullholland Dr. ride is almost as terrifying as the real thing following Aaron. Electric Light Parade, calling my mom during the melody and making her cry from the other side of the state. No fireworks, but plenty of Disneyland proper followed.
FRIDAY
Last day, didn't get to finish out at Disney California due to burgeoning plans. Lunch at the ESPN Zone (shrugs). Dinner at Medieval Times. The blue knight was awesome but was fated to lose. Jessie got a carnation. Watched the fireworks from Main Street. Calling my mom during the introduction and making her cry from the other side of the state. Finished the trip out strong with Tiki Room, Pirates (~5 minute wait!) Haunted Mansion (No wait! And the creepiest cast member in the world!) And one last ride on the Jungle Tours at night (Jessie hates me!)
SATURDAY
Pack up and head to Long Beach. Begin the gulag! Walk to and get smuggled into the harbor, get lots of maps in the process. Have lunch, walk Jessie back to the apartment. Walk back to the harbor (as well as walk the distance we were driven to get smuggled in) get on the boat. Wind up working on some tour. Make up information and take some pictures. Get back to the harbor, set up the boat for party mode. Walk to the grocery store (~10 blocks extra) and back to Jon's. Thank Disneyland for the conditioning that made the day's walking possible.
SUNDAY
Pack up. Since Jon and Andy didn't come home that night, I decided to be generous with all those maps Jon kept feeding me. On his bed. And hidden around the apartment. Drive to Hollywood to meet up with Aaron again. Charge my iPod, which lasts the rest of the day, thank God. Get some b-sides he hadn't released, as well as his new project's finished tracks. Previous show invites didn't pan out, but c'est la vie. Bounce to the studio and take pictures. Get invited to show at Popscene the following week by Billy for his band War Tapes. Begin drive back to Napa. Get home, give gifts, hang out, sleep.
!BONUS THURSDAY!
War Tapes show at Popscene. Pick up Jessie's friend Kimi (whom Billy remembers from his The Calling days) in SF and head to Popscene. Get to say "Yeah, I'm on the list." See Margaux from Napa, am surprised but not entirely. Mill around, see Billy. See show, remark at quality of music and how far the singer (who looks disturbingly like Alan Cumming) is willing to go in dressing like a Nazi without ACTUALLY dressing like a Nazi. Buy a shirt. Thank Aaron again, promise to send awesome pictures I've shot soon. Find Billy after the show and thank him again, wish him well on his trip to play with The Bravery in England. Drive to Mel's (Closed.) Walk across the street to Denny's. Talk Sonoma State Psychology with Kimi, who is attending next semester. Drop her off at home, head back to Napa.
I'm omitting about a bajillion things, this was one of the fullest 10 days of my life, and it was even all for recreation! Amazing. And now I need to slowly adjust back to real life by studying for tests and paying bills and applying for jobs.
