2 weeks and 4 days in and I'm 10 pounds down, 25 more to go. YEEEES. (Granted I know some of it's water weight, so 10 pounds is cheating. More like 5 pounds. But stiiiiiill.) One day my face will go with my newly chopped hair!
Tonight George and I began Einstein on clicker training to learn some "tricks." He knows a few commands, but they're all commands I taught him when raising him for Guide Dogs. Now we're interested in teaching him things he couldn't learn before. Examples are picking up his toys, putting his toys away, nose pound, playing dead, and shake. I obviously have high hopes. It'll be slow going, though. Tonight we were able to get Einstein to go from sitting in front of us waiting INTENTLY for food to touching his nose to a toy nylabone I held, to touching his nose to the bone when I dropped it somewhere near me. He would sometimes touch the bone if it were far away, but he still won't turn his back on me to touch it. So, I stopped there and tomorrow I'll pick up where we left off. I may try carrots instead of dog food next time, since I don't want him packing on the pounds while we continue the clicker training. And, he just loves carrots SO MUCH.
And, on the topic of guide dogs, George and I will be receiving our 4th puppy the 20th of this month. Black lab, male, name starts with the letter "L." I'm pretty excited and looking forward to the work. Not looking forward to the peeing, though.
Operation: Floss = success. Next? Operation: Stop Biting Nails.
