So. We seem to have skipped actual BW/PotW discussion and gone straight to S1 overviews, but I don't like leaving them out, so I'm doing them anyway. XP
So here we go into Nine's goodbye... hold on tight, boys and girls, this one's gonna be a bumpy ride and not everyone's coming out alive...
Vague refs for Torchwood and Last of the Time Lords.
(
'BUT YOU HAVE NO WEA-PONS. NO DE-FEN-SES. NO PLAN.' 'Yeah. And doesn't that scare you to death.' )
Why go after a new food source, then? Unless - oh, no, of course, an easier food source! Anything that feeds on emotions has got to be a great manipulator, or it runs the risk of starvation, but anything around it has evolved to resist manipulation...
Maybe it doesn't want to 'overgraze'. Let the cattle relax and lower their guards again before stampeding them again. If you'll pardon the mixed metaphor.
humans, though, are so easy to whip up into mobs... if they'd thrown the Doctor out, it could have ridden back to civilisation in Skye's body and imagine the damage it could have done then...
Smorgasbord.
But once they threw out Skye, it wasn't hungry enough to feel like trying again. If the resort managers don't listen to the Doctor's warnings, though, it could get another chance. ...I don't even know how to make an emoticon that conveys the horror I feel at that thought.
And I suspect that's exactly what happened, though it might actually prefer keeping a lower profile, taking a shuttle like that now and again rather than storming the castle and risk scaring the food away permanently.
Why do I keep talking about this before bedtime?

Oh, I like mixed metaphors. XD And that makes sense. It was so easy to stop them from listening to sense when the Doctor was standing right in front of them, once the trouble's over and he's gone, it wouldn't expect them to take his advice then either.
Smorgasbord.
I should probably mention, I read that in Ten's voice. And it makes it really, really creepy.

Could be. It's probably clever enough to. On the other hand, if it gets curious about where these so badly-protected beings come from, and starts wondering how much better it could do for itself with a larger food supply... *shudder*

Cos you're a masochist?

And I'm sure, too, that folks who weren't there might write a lot of what happened off as a sort of 'mass' hysteria.

That is a word he's enjoy saying. In this context, though, very creepy.

Forget the suitcase, there's storage pods worth of bad in that.

Especially if the Doctor can't find anyone among the people in charge who actually knows who he is - if he can call on his reputation, he can add a lot of credence to their story, but if no one on the planet's heard of him, he'll just look like another hysterical passenger.

Oh, yeah.
And that video works so well it scares me. XD
