Classic Who Suggestion Post

Right, so! I'm working on cementing the Master Schedule for the re-watch, and I wanted to get started on figuring out exactly which Classic Who serials we will be doing. We are going to be watching one (1) Classic Who serial between each New Who series, so we are going to need to decide on five (5) different Classic Who serials to watch

Genesis of the Daleks



In Nu Who we hear a lot about the Daleks, Davros, the Time War, time-can-be-rewritten etc. Here's where it all started. I think it's a very cool serial for Nu Who fans to see in particular, because so much of what we've learned about the Doctor's interactions with the Daleks and Davros is based on this serial.

For other people's benefit, this is a serial the features Four, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry.

But yeah, this is an episode that is good for establishing mythology.

This'd be a good one to do before s4 for obvious reasons.

Also lol Harry is one of the companions I forget exists.

Lol I have not seen much Classic Who so far, but this is the only serial that I legitimately enjoyed/thought was actual quality so far! I love that it deals with characters we know well from New Who, the moral dilemmas involved (HIS ANGSTING IN THE END IS SO TEN), and I love the tragic inevitability about it all, with them trying to prevent this terrible thing from happening and you know it will happen anyway. Definitely an improvement over the original mythology of Skaro and the Dalek's origin...which was the most boring episode ever

+ 1 billion! Genesis was the serial that really sold me on classic Who, which not even City of Death succeeded in doing.
