Right, so! I'm working on cementing the Master Schedule for the re-watch, and I wanted to get started on figuring out exactly which Classic Who serials we will be doing. We are going to be watching one (1) Classic Who serial between each New Who series, so we are going to need to decide on five (5) different Classic Who serials to watch ( Read more... )

OMG YES HAPPINESS PATROL. It is delightfully bizarre, especially the Kandy Man.

Also, a special edition of it just came out where the plot apparently makes more sense.

The Green Death: Three, Jo

Pros: Good for if you're in the mood for FOREVER ALONE Doctor. This is Jo's last episode and the Doctor is fairly emo. Plus it's on Netflix instant.

Cons: It's 2 1/2 hours long. :P

I will second this one! It's probably my favorite of the various Three episodes I've watched.

For other people's benefit, this is a serial the features Four, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry.

But yeah, this is an episode that is good for establishing mythology.

This'd be a good one to do before s4 for obvious reasons.

Also lol Harry is one of the companions I forget exists.

Black Orchid Five, Tegan, Nyssa, Adric

Pros: Team TARDIS party! Seriously. :D I love this episode even though it's very un-DW-like. Team TARDIS goes to the 1920s, dances and solves a mystery. Plus it's fairly short.

Cons: Not on Netflix instant. Boo. And like I said, fairly un-Doctor-Who-like. If you're looking for a taste of Classic Who, this wouldn't really represent it.

That serial and The King's Demons are two of my Five quality pleasures. Both bring hardly anything of substance to the show as a whole but are made up of pure fun. Black Orchid with dancing and The King's Demons with sword fighting. 'Nuff said.

The Five Doctors Starring EVERYONE.

Pros: Lots of Doctors! Lots of Companions! The Master! Rassilon! Gallifrey! Weird Time Lord things!

Cons: This guy. (And it's not on Netflix instant.)

YES GOOD!!!!

But.

I really want to find the commentary that David Tennant did for this episode. Because it is really lulzy.

I think it might have died with Megaupload though. It'll be really hard to find, I think.

YES! Him, Julie Gardner and Phil Collinson (I think?) did a commetary and there was alcohol involved. It was gr8.

It was a special or hidden feature on a DVD release, I think.
