I have been using my hosting company for over 5 years and have never really had a problem with them until Thursday. The server that my website, the Corellian boards, and the Pulserifle website died. Normally this wouldn't be too much of a problem if they were doing regular backups. The last backup that they had was from July 12, so any information

Or, um, you could change hosting companies to someone who does nightly backups.

I recommend futurequest.net - I've been with them since '98 and no disasters they couldn't fix in a matter of hours. And a backup every 24 hours.

Well I am paid up for a few more months, but it might be time to shop around after that. I setup cron jobs to backup my databases nightly now, so hopefully that will help prevent this from happening again.

damn, that sucks!

i have my home computer set up to pull down a backup of the 501stforums.com every night, just in case that happens. it seems like a fairly good setup.
