I have been using my hosting company for over 5 years and have never really had a problem with them until Thursday. The server that my website, the Corellian boards, and the Pulserifle website died. Normally this wouldn't be too much of a problem if they were doing regular backups. The last backup that they had was from July 12, so any information added into any of those databases since then is lost forever. I am not very happy about this fact at all. It sucks for the Corellian boards, but I think that it sucks more for my photogallery. I had almost 4000 pictures loaded and categorized before. I lost almost 1000 of them which now have to be reuploaded, imported etc.
I guess it is time to setup some cron jobs to run automatic backups of the databases on a weekly basis...After I figure out how to do that and make it work.
